Announcements

October flew by with college applications opening up, and now we’re jumping right into November with more exciting opportunities!

All Grade Levels

  • Activities Charts: Make sure to keep updating your activities charts with any extracurriculars, community service, or achievements. These records will be invaluable for college applications and scholarships down the line.

  • A-G Eligibility Reminder: To be eligible for admission to UC and CSU schools, you must pass all A-G courses with a grade of C or better. Staying on top of your grades now will make sure you meet these requirements.

Scholarship Opportunities

  • Community Foundation of the North State Universal Scholarship Application: This application covers multiple scholarships available for seniors. Encourage your student to apply—these scholarships offer substantial support and are an incredible opportunity for those eligible. Scholarships can be found in the Senior Google Classroom.

November Events

  • November 1st: Sacramento State’s Future Hornet Day. Juniors and seniors will be visiting Sacramento State for a firsthand look at college life and to explore what Sac State has to offer.

  • November 1st: Women in Wildfire Training Camp Application Deadline. If your student is interested in a career in wildfire management, remind them to complete and submit their application by this date. A Ford Family Foundation representative will be here to share tips and insights for completing the scholarship application and standing out in the selection process. This is a highly competitive and valuable scholarship, so encourage your senior to attend and learn more.

  • November 19th: US Army Presentation.

  • November 18th: FAFSA Night. Join us in the EHS cafeteria from 6:00-8:00 PM for Financial Aid Night. Brad Williams from College and Career Options will be here to guide families through the FAFSA application process and answer any questions. Remember, completing the FAFSA is crucial for financial aid eligibility, including grants and scholarships.

November is a busy month for our seniors, full of opportunities to secure financial support for college and prepare for the next steps after high school. Please check in with your senior regularly to help them stay on track.

Be thankful for these opportunities, and I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving break!
